We recently had the opportunity to visit Child Life Specialists, Kelsey Mayer and Lesley Phillips at Blythedale Children’s Hospital where Artworks Teaching Artists Deborah Dawson and Judith Williams were working at bedside with patients in a laser-guided painting workshop. This program utilizes a laser light, attached to the artist’s head or hand, which allows them to guide the Teaching Artist to choose and mix colors, as well as direct the paintbrush to create a painting. It was wonderful to see these Young Artists empowered by the creative process!  #ArtWorksKids

We met with Child Life Specialist, Tiffany Shevchik along with her team yesterday at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Their Young Artists are already looking forward to Express Yourself on October 7th. Don’t forget, the deadline to submit artwork and performance ideas is Friday, August 10, 2018. We can’t wait to see what our Young Artists share with us! #ArtWorksKids

Last week, we visited Teaching Artist, Ria Hawks at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York during a SAORI Weaving workshop! We loved watching our Young Artists explore the loom and show off their weaving skills!
