Thank you Westwood Gallery!

As we gear up for Express Yourself on October 7, we want to take time each week to be grateful for the generosity that makes this event possible. #FrameOfMind highlights the dedicated partners who provide custom-framing for all of the works on display at Express Yourself. This week we are pleased to feature our first framer, Michael Fitzsimmons of Westwood Gallery. See him pictured here with ArtWorks resident pup, Toby. Thank you, Michael for your hard work and dedication to the #ArtWorksKids. We couldn’t do this without you!

Macro Photography Workshop at NYU Langone’s Rusk Rehabilitation Center

We recently visited Child Life Specialist, Lisa Del Guidice and ArtWorks Teaching Artist, Steven Hazlett to observe Steven’s Macro Photography Workshop at NYU Langone’s Rusk Rehabilitation. Young Artist, Harry was so excited to introduce Steven to his brother and parents. The boys scattered glitter, pompoms and confetti onto paper plates and used a digital camera to create macro compositions. They also decorated frames for their finished pieces with the same objects they photographed. Steven said about his program, “I like to think that the patients I work with are left feeling inspired to continue exploring and appreciating the world around them as if they’re seeing it for the first time. The wonderful thing about macro work in a hospital is that it transports you beyond the barriers of that setting, all through the lens of a camera!” #ArtWorksKids

ArtWorks was humbled and grateful to be the 2018 Beneficiary at the Angelos Mission Ensemble’s Annual Benefit Concert this past Saturday, July 21 at the Joy Christian Fellowship in Englewood, NJ. The students have a remarkable talent and we were honored to be included in this wonderful event. Thank you to Director, Soo Bae and everyone at AME and to the Joy Christian Fellowship community.
