From our Teaching Artist workshops and general celebrations of our Young Artists and our programming, there is never a dull moment with ArtWorks!
The #BowieIs exhibition made its final stop at The Brooklyn Museum last summer and we are still electrified. Gabriella’s piece, “Heroes” (2017) serves as a testament that his music and artistry lives on in our Young Artists and all over the world. #NationalSuperheroDay
When we look at “Swiggle Giggle” (2006) by Young Artist, Tanisha from NewYork-Presbyterian NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center we can’t help but think of the work by Hilma af Klint. We see very similar geometric forms and a parallel in both artists’ approach to composition and color. In one piece however, we do see a generous application of glitter. What do you see? Be sure to check out Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on exhibit until April 23rd.
For a limited time, you can make Caroline’s (2013) splatter paint artwork your profile picture frame https://bit.ly/2tovlSd. Share the love with all of your facebook friends today! Wishing you a very Happy Valentines Day!

On Monday, ArtWorks Teaching Artist, Yako started his year-long Graffiti and Beat-Boxing Workshop series at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Young Artists will explore how to make a variety of sounds and beats using only their mouth, and will learn new techniques in lettering and drawing to create their own personal graffiti style. This past Wednesday, we celebrated the opening of the WWRSD Has HeART exhibition at The Westwood Art Gallery. We are inspired and proud of the excellent work on display by the 14-student finalists. Our team is pictured here with Pam Duffus from Westwood High School; Abigail Hill, recipient of the 2019 ArtWorks Award and Mike Fitzimmons from Westwood Art Gallery. If you’re in the North Jersey area this month, stop into the gallery to see the show!
One of our favorite nights of the year has arrived! Since 2015, ArtWorks has been the beneficiary of the WWRSD Has HeART Event at Westwood Gallery. Tonight, we will be attending the opening reception of the exhibition where ArtWorks Young Artist, Za’myah will have her piece featured among 14 bodies of works by Westwood students. Thank you so much Westwood Regional for continuously supporting ArtWorks! We can’t wait to celebrate the arts together!
Fresh new paints make our days exceptionally brighter! Thank you to Rich Art Color for donating washable paints so that our Young Artists have the tools to continue express themselves! Pictured here: ArtWorks longtime volunteer, Arielle. #LetArtHeal
“Road to Recovery” by ArtWorks Young Artist Camryn from Cohen Children’s Medical Center embodies her personal journey as a cancer patient. “There were days of sadness and despair,” she told ArtWorks. But by using art in her healing process, she has found herself on the road to recovery. #WorldCancerDay
