At Express Yourself New York, Ciro performed his solo “The Feeling of the Dragon” on the xylophone.

Ciro is a multidisciplinary artist who has shared his many talents with ArtWorks! It has been a pleasure to work with Ciro, and the group from Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center for many years, at the Express Yourself New York shows. Ciro is 14 years old and is a visual artist, musical artist, creative writer and playwright. In 2014, Ciro created the drawing “Un Angel Llamado Anai” as well wrote the original screen play for the group production of “The Carnival of Adventure.” In 2015, Ciro performed his solo “The Feeling of the Dragon” on the xylophone.

When asked what motivates Ciro to create art he said “Because it is fun! I like seeking the finished product of what I created.” He described his drawing as “An angel who watches over you. That guides you. That brings peace to your soul. Accompanied you in trials, failure, punishment, distresses, losses, and wipe your tears. Tells you he loves you and stays with you. Without seeking anything other company. No Angels with wings always come from Heaven or. . . Open your eyes may have one nearby. Right now.” Ciro is inspired by “cartoons and places I have been or places I would like to go.” He is never shy when exploring his many outlets for expression. He said that he likes using all types of materials that are both 2D and 3D because to him “art helps with stress.”

For so many artists, art provides many unique experiences and for Ciro he feels “art means creation.” ArtWorks is honored to be able to showcase the many inspiring creative talents at our Express Yourself show of so many young minds like Ciro’s!
