A year ago, Luciana was having painful headaches when they found a tumor in her cerebellum. After three surgeries, Luciana struggles with her balance and has difficulty walking. Just recently, they found that her tumor had grown back and she will be receiving chemotherapy in the coming weeks. Her family is positive as Luciana begins treatment and hopes that she shares her art with others as she spends time in the hospital.

ArtWorks is delighted to reintroduce Luciana, age 12, as our October Young Artist Highlight! We first met her back in October of 2015 at Hackensack University Medical Center when she submitted two pieces to Express Yourself (shown below) and was also featured as our October 2015 Artist of the Month. As she continues to receive treatment, we hope this highlight not only brightens her often challenging days but motivates her and all others to use art to heal, inspire and empower!
